Installing WinFX
To install the November 2005 CTP and Visual Studio extensions, you will need to download and execute the following:
- November CTP WinFX Runtime Components
Windows Presentation Foundation,
Windows Communication Foundation,
Windows Workflow Foundation
- WinFX SDK
Documentation and command-line tools
- VS2005 Extensions for WinFX Runtime Components
Templates and IntelliSense for WPF and WCF in Visual Studio 2005
- VS2005 Extensions for Windows Workflow Foundation
Templates and IntelliSense for WF in Visual Studio 2005
- WinFX RC Nov CTP "Readme"
General notes and warnings
Note: Microsoft plans a December 2005 and January 2006 release of the WinFX runtime components.
The December release will be an update of the November release that is compatible with the latest beta of Windows Vista.
Once you have the WinFX environment installed, there are number of design and development tools to help you start developing in Avalon. Below are a few of these tools:
